Candidates with prior experience in senior management or business ownership are targeted by the Nova Scotia Entrepreneur stream. They must reside in Nova Scotia, open a new company or purchase an existing one, and be actively involved in running it on a daily basis.

Candidates for the Entrepreneur stream receive a temporary work permit first, and then after operating their business for a year, they can apply for permanent residence. Candidates in a pool are invited to apply in the stream’s Expression of Interest format.
