Established in 1996, the Central American Health Sciences University (CAHSU) in Belize is an establishment spanning two decades. Since CAHSU is a medical school that follows the curriculum of the US medical system, MBBS students in the USA have an advantage when it comes to passing the USMLE. Belize City is home to the university. Belize is also the name of the nation. Belize is bordered by both the Caribbean Sea and Mexico. This common-wealth nation has quick access to Mexico, Central America, and the United States. The fact that Belize is a mainland country rather than an island provides the greatest geographic advantage.

MBBS in USA program from CAHSU

With a curriculum modeled after the USA, CAHSU-Belize offers MBBS students from the USA top-notch medical education that equips them for lifelong study. There are three components to the curriculum.

Pre-med: In the USA, pre-med students begin their MBBS degree here and gain a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of medicine, preparing them for the medical program.

Basic Sciences: This is the foundational medical curriculum that provides physicians with a variety of issues and answers for their research and care. The principles of therapy, illness, and other legal matters are also covered in this section.

Clinical Rotations: During this portion of the program, students work as interns and gain practical clinical experience while learning how to apply their education.

Being one of the select few universities with three intakes annually—in January, May, and September—CAHSU is on par with international norms. Students who apply later than the deadline do not lose a year because admissions are granted on a rolling basis.
