FSW OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW OF FEDERAL SKILLED WORKERS
One of the three government programs overseen by Express Entry is this one. This program is specifically designed for talented people with international job experience who want to settle permanently in Canada.
There is a minimal prerequisite for this program for applicants to have:
- skilled work experience
- Education
- Language
The candidate must satisfy all minimum requirements in order to be qualified for this program.
The application will be evaluated based on the following factors if the applicant satisfies all the minimal requirements:
- Age
- Education
- working knowledge
- Genuine job offer
- French or English language proficiency
- (Settlement in Canada) Adaptability
Each of these criteria is assessed according to a 100-point scale to determine a Candidate’s eligibility. The cutoff criterion is now 67 points.
Applicant eligibility for the Express Entry pool, which employs a separate system to rank applicant profiles, begins once they reach 67 points. The first applicants asked to submit applications for permanent residence are the ones with the highest test scores.
The express entry pool receives an expression of interest (EOI) from federal skilled workers who meet the eligibility requirements. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the foundation for the ranking.
