Program for Alberta Immigration Nominees

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is for people who possess the knowledge and skills to fill Alberta’s labor needs.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) and the Express Entry systems both accept applications from skilled workers. Additionally, it runs the Self-Employed Farmer Stream and the International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream.

The Foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa Stream is the third business stream.

The Alberta government oversees this program with assistance from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Federal Immigration Department.

A two-step procedure must be followed by interested candidates:

  • Apply for a nomination from the province government first,
  • then if you are nominated, submit an application to the federal government for permanent residency.
